City Campus Children's Centre

Centre overview

RMIT City Campus Children's Centre is a 44 place Long Daycare Service, comprising currently of three rooms:

  • Koala Room: 10 children - 3 months to 2 years
  • Platypus Room: 15 children - 2 years to 3 years
  • Possum Room: 19 children - 3 years to 5 years

RMIT City Campus Children's Centre has a strong commitment to providing a progressive and consistently high quality children's service where the needs of both the children and the families are met. We aim to provide an environment that nurtures the uniqueness of each child. Our program enables the children to learn and develop skills through the process of exploration within an educationally play based curriculum. We aim to provide an encouraging environment that is supportive and safe. Our aim is to work as a partnership with our families integrating our diverse cultures, backgrounds, beliefs and attitudes in our community.

Times

The centre operates from 7.45am - 5.45pm, Monday to Friday, for 50 weeks a year.

Staffing

RMIT City Campus Children's Centre has a committed, dedicated, enthusiastic and bi-lingual team of staff. All staff employed at the centre either have a formal qualifications in Early Childhood Education and or many years of experience working with young children. A qualified staff member, holding a minimum of a two year qualification in Early Childhood Education, is responsible for the supervision of each room at the centre. Staff are encouraged to continue to further themselves through numerous avenues to keep up to date with current practices, research and theories.
