Work/Life Balance

Achieving work/life balance is an important way to manage your day to day demands and still make time for you and the things you enjoy. Balance as a subjective feeling of fairly distributing a limited resource. For most of us, this precious resource is time! When things are out of balance, you can be at risk of academic failure, high levels of stress or anxiety, feeling compromised, feeling dissatisfied and being burnt out. This workshop will help you look at ways to better achieve balance to help you better manage your study demands.

Stress Management

4 key points will be the focus of this Workshop:

  • Stress is normal (and, in small doses, can aid motivation and enhance performance(
  • Is managing stress all about: Massage? Sport / exercise? Bubble baths & spas? Nutritious diet? Meditation?
  • Stress management is very much about perception - your perception of the stressor
  • So minimising stress is about 'changing your mind', or altering your perception of the stressor.

The Workshop challenges you to apply these 4 key understandings to a University / TAFE environment.
