Research Interests

My Honour’s degree in Information Systems from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand explored the issues of trust associated with B2C eCommerce for New Zealand Maori, identifying some of the issues that helped or hindered their adoption of shopping via the Internet.

Recently, I have completed my PhD titled “Power and Politics in a System Implementation.” My PhD had a strong focus on the social issues surrounding systems implementation. Specifically, the study aimed to identify the role of power and politics in systems implementation. Findings indicated that system implementation works at two levels. Challenges for power are acted out in public forums; and discourse drives the implementation process through social dramas. Furthermore, policy enactment legitimises power, establishing a discourse, and limiting resistance.

I have also co-supervised a minor Masters thesis exploring the Cultural Dimension in Online Learning.

Essentially, my research interests are varied. However, I am interested in supply chain management, eBusiness, eLearning, information systems implementation, strategy and policy, the social aspects of information and the relationship of culture to information.
