Profile

Peter joined RMIT in 2001 from many years teaching at Monash University. He was the Director (Acting) of the Development Studies Centre at Monash and taught in the areas of public policy, environmental studies, international development and social theory. Since coming to RMIT, Peter has occupied the position of Postgraduate Research Coordinator and has been responsible for a number of new undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He is a Research Associate with the Globalism Institute and is currently working in the core program of Social Science and International Development in the School of Global Studies, Social Science and Planning (GSSSP).

Peter was nominated twice for an RMIT Teaching Award. Peter has published a number of international journal articles, monographs, books and contributes regularly to Curriculum Development Teaching (Secondary) Journals. He has worked as a Consultant of projects on community sustainability and as Academic Manager for AusAID Education Project. His research interests are political and social theory, global studies with a particular interest in democracy. He is currently working on a new book on democracy and political values to be published in 2007.
