Ute Leiner is the coordinator of the Art in Public Space Research Cluster. She is a practicing artist, designer/maker and a researcher working on inter-cultural projects with the City of Greater Dandenong.

Ute’s research is informed by contemporary critical theory, visual culture and social geography. Research foci are ‘gendered space’, ‘technological vision, representation and the sexualised gaze’, and ‘the subversion of visual dominance’. Currently Ute investigates the democratisation of the senses in Public Space.
