TAFE

Many of the Scholarships and grants that are available as a result of excellent results are available through your area of study. You may also wish to look at Scholarships available to students having financial difficulties.

TAFE scholarships

• George Alexander Foundation Scholarships are for students who have the academic ability and the will to succeed and require financial assistance
• Northcote Trust Scholarship provides an ongoing commitment of either $15,000 or $17,000 over two or three years for eligible TAFE and Higher Ed students
• There are other external Scholarships on offer and you should also have a look at the MyFuture website

Postgraduate by Research

Some research students are able to obtain grants from government and industry sources to support their work:

• Australia Postgraduate Awards (APA) are funded by the Commonwealth Government and are awarded to individuals undertaking a Research Masters or Doctoral Degree on the basis of academic excellence and research potential. All award holders are allocated a government funded Research Training Scheme (RTS) place.
• Bushfire Cooperative Research Centre Postgraduate Scholarships is offering outstanding students access to a variety of scholarships.
• Agriculture Scholarships are now open for students studying in the field of agriculture.

• The Menzies Foundation is offering PhD research scholarships in allied health sciences. The level of remuneration is $25,000 p.a.
