Joshua Carter moved to Melbourne from Amsterdam to continue pursuing his interests in sound design.
"My background is actually in physics but I had been living in Amsterdam doing some sound projects.
"The main reason I moved to Melbourne for the Master of Design Innovation and Technology (MDIT) was for the sound component. It was only once I started that I realised I really enjoyed the other components of the course too, like the advanced manufacturing and architecture areas.
"I think the key thing about MDIT is it touches on a broad range of design subjects, like information technology, sound and sound scapes, manufacturing, digital architecture and responsive and kinetic facades.
"My favourite thing about the program is that it’s really hands-on. So, although you learn a lot of theory, it’s ultimately about making it happen and creating tangible products."
