A passion to build inclusive and positive connections in our communities inspired Yvonne Luu to study a Master of Communication.
Master of Communication
My qualification has helped me to develop a range of skills that have enabled me to become a more confident communications practitioner. It will give me an edge as I apply for more senior positions.
Yvonne Luu chose to study at RMIT because of the emphasis on collaborative learning environments and its reputation for enabling students to build vocational skills.
“The professionalism and enthusiasm of the teaching staff has been a highlight of my studies; many of them have had extensive industry experience and are able to draw on a wealth of knowledge and know-how during class.”
“I have also loved the opportunity to engage with people outside my existing networks by meeting and working with a very diverse student and university community.”
Yvonne particularly enjoyed a group assignment which focused on the concept of nation branding, in her case investigating the impact of the 2008 Beijing Olympics on China’s national brand.
“This experience buoyed my confidence in both my studies and my work, as I was able to familiarise myself with new concepts and apply them in real world examples”.
Yvonne is currently working as a Communications Advisor at Diversity Council Australia and has experience across a range of government and not-for-profit settings.
