With a passion for understanding the engineering process of products from start to finish, Daniel Chan is studying an undergraduate degree in sustainable systems engineering.
Bachelor of Engineering (Sustainable Systems Engineering) (Honours)
I chose to study sustainable systems engineering because I wanted to learn about the engineering process of products from start to finish.
I chose to study sustainable systems engineering because the degree takes into account all aspects of the production process, from the initial design and brainstorming phase, all the way through research and development and the final stage of product delivery.
I’m interested in the whole life cycle of a product, including optimising efficiencies and identifying areas of improvement. Increasing efficiencies in systems will ultimately increase performance and be greatly beneficial in the future.
We’ve covered subjects from electrical and mechanical to chemical engineering, broadening my knowledge and enhancing my understanding of the overall engineering process. I’ve really enjoyed learning about the broad spectrum of engineering.
I’m really interested in the automotive industry and hope to work as a senior systems engineer in this area.
