Postgraduate studies in strategic procurement will position you as leading procurement role and become a master of strategic planning, supplier relationship management and creative innovation.
You will learn to deliver high returns while successfully aligning procurement with a public or private organisation's triple bottom line.
Strategic procurement specialists:
- produce cost and service efficiencies for commercial advantage
- apply knowledge of market analysis, strategic sourcing, category management, organisational behaviour, business performance and spend analysis
- make decisions in the context of long-term environmental and social trends associated with strategic sourcing.
International student visa holders can only study full-time.
Your classes will mostly be held at the Swanston Academic Building where innovative learning spaces are interspersed with retail and social spaces resulting in a stimulating environment for business students.
RMIT offers a variety of learning and teaching approaches including lectures, seminars, workshops, presentations and group discussions. In addition, you will have access to online and digital resources such as lecture notes, assessment tools, discussion boards and podcasts through myRMIT.
College of Business educational software, the Learning Hub, other online and digital resources and printers are accessible on campus via the RMIT wireless network using your own laptop, tablet or smart phone or via computer facilities on-campus. You will be able to access the same software from home using myDesktop.

Ongoing assessment throughout the semester includes examinations, essays, reports, presentations, group projects, research projects, quizzes and tests, blog journals and practical assignments.
The market need for this program was recognised by a partnership between the Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN) and the Australasian Procurement and Construction Council (APCC). As part of the ATN, RMIT's specialist postgraduate programs are part of a suite of options available Australia-wide that provides full credit transfer if your career takes you interstate during your studies.
Graduates are encouraged to progress to the Master of Strategic Procurement. Master degree graduates can expect to find work in: local and state government departments, medium to large enterprises and private sector organisations.

- purchasing, and logistics management
- policy and planning management
- strategic management and organisation analysis.
