An in-depth program providing current or aspiring managers with high-level expertise in planning, directing, implementing and monitoring an organisation's marketing effort.You will understand the role of marketing and its relationship with other important functional areas in management to get an all-of-business view, and develop appropriate marketing tactics and strategies. You will learn how to design and undertake marketing research, identify and improve your personal management skills, and develop a breadth of knowledge by exploring a number of specialist areas such as consumer behaviour, brand strategy, services marketing, product innovation, marketing communication and social marketing.
How you will learn
RMIT offers a variety of learning and teaching approaches including lectures, seminars, workshops, presentations and group discussions. In addition you will have access to online and digital resources through myRMIT.
College of Business educational software, the Learning Hub, other online and digital resources and printers are accessible on campus via the RMIT wireless network using your own laptop, tablet or smart phone or via computer facilities on-campus. You will be able to access the same software from home using myDesktop.

Ongoing assessment throughout the semester includes examinations, essays, reports, presentations, group projects, research projects, quizzes and tests, blog journals and practical assignments. Some components of your assessment may be assessed by industry practitioners.
Delivered 100 per cent online, you can study on any device, wherever there is an internet connection. RMIT’s community-based online study lets you investigate new ideas through video, audio, and practical activities and assessments. In virtual meeting spaces and by participating in discussions forums, you will connect, interact and collaborate with expert lecturers and other professionals studying alongside you.
Through myRMIT on-campus and online students can view online resources and learning activities created by lecturers, access course materials via Blackboard, collaborate with lecturers and fellow students, and access their student email account.
Global intensives are a unique feature of the program. You can combine an overseas travel and cultural experience with coursework completed in intensive mode and have this credited towards your degree. They depart during the Australian summer or winter vacations and are usually undertaken in the final semester of the master degree.
If you are planning to include a global intensive as part of your program, you are advised to check that you have the required number of student electives or credit points available.

The master degree comprises core and elective courses. You will be able to select six electives that can both deepen and broaden your knowledge of marketing, and will complete a practice-based marketing research project.
The online master degree comprises 12 core courses, delivered across six study periods, allowing you to focus on one course at a time.
In both delivery models, you will explore a complex problem, and test and evaluate potential solutions with industry and community stakeholders in the compulsory course, Business Research Design.
