RMIT graduates of the Associate Degree in Professional Writing and Editing may be eligible to apply for exemptions.
High performing graduates of the Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) are well placed to take up further study either to pursue a particular research interest through Honours or by taking a postgraduate Masters’ qualification.
When you successfully complete the Associate Degree in Professional Writing and Editing and achieve a minimum GPA of 3.5 and complete the required pre-requisite courses, you are guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) with 1 semester of advanced standing (equivalent to 60 credit points). Pre-requisite courses include COMM2462 Writing for the Print Media and COMM2468 Advanced Feature Writing.
If you achieve below the minimum GPA or have not completed the pre-requisite courses, you may still apply and will need to attend an interview. You will be assessed on a case by case basis and credit is not guaranteed.
