Graduates of the Certificate IV in Textile Design and Development can continue to study the Diploma of Textile Design and Development. The Diploma is offered as an additional year of full-time study.
You may be eligible to begin your studies at the Diploma level if you already hold a Certificate IV in Textile Design and Development or have the relevant knowledge and skills. You must still apply for the Certificate IV, and will be assessed for entry into the Diploma.
Pathway into the degree
Graduates of the RMIT Diploma of Textile Design and Development with a minimum GPA of 2.5 are given automatic entry into the Bachelor of Arts (Textile Design) and are granted exemptions up to 1 year. You must submit and application via RMIT direct.
Graduates who achieve less than a minimum GPA of 2.5 must apply (via RMIT Direct) and attend a folio presentation. You may be considered for some exemptions based on negotiation with the program selection team.
When you successfully complete the Certificate IV in Textile Design and Development you are guaranteed entry into the Diploma of Textile Design and Development.
When you successfully complete the Diploma of Textile Design and Development and achieve a minimum GPA of 2.5, you are guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Arts (Textile Design) and will receive 2 semesters of advanced standing (equivalent to 96 credit points).
If you achieve below the minimum GPA, you may still apply and will need to submit a folio. You will be assessed on a case by case basis and credit is not guaranteed.
