I’m now thoroughly capable of obtaining sufficient research data to produce scientific reports for my assignments.
In high school I always looked forward to my science classes – especially biology. I’m fascinated by the natural world and this area of study is limitless.
I enjoy working with animal cells for culturing and preparing microorganisms for the microscope, but the best experience for me is going on field trips.
Subjects such as Marine Biology and Ecosphere have been really enjoyable because the lecturers were enthusiastic and I was able to study different ecosystems on numerous trips.
The Queenscliff camp in marine biology was amazing. I discovered a whole new world of marine life while snorkelling in the ocean.
When working in the laboratory and in the field, I always try to be patient when trying to collect accurate data for research.
I obtained a PC2 laboratory safety certificate through this program which proves that I am able to work efficiently and safely in a laboratory.
I can also work aseptically (free of pathogenic microorganisms) in the laboratory and I’m now thoroughly capable of obtaining sufficient research data to produce scientific reports for my assignments.
I plan to undertake further study into an honours or master degree in biology at RMIT, and when I graduate, I’d like to work for a reputable biotechnology company.
I am confident, patient and a high achiever. I love what I do because I’m a scientist at heart.
