RMIT University participated in Earth Hour for the second time in 2009.
Earth Hour is a worldwide initiative that encourages households, businesses and institutions around the world to switch off their lights for one hour to make a united statement against the effects of global warming.
RMIT exceeded its 2008 result of a five per cent reduction in electricity consumption for the hour that all lights were switched off across the City, Brunswick, and Bundoora campuses.
