Your Work Your Rights

Your work rights

Research shows that TAFE and university students are taking on more and more paid employment. At RMIT most students have a job and many students work for more than 20 hours per week. Work is an increasing important part of students’ lives.

The world of work can be pretty confusing. So many things to know and so many things no one tells you.

The most important thing to remember is that you do have rights. And it’s surprising what a difference a bit of information about these rights, and how to use them, can make to your overall safety, wellbeing and happiness at work.

Hopping onto a website like this one is a good start. Your Work Your Rights has been researched and written by RMIT Union Legal Service and RMIT Student Union staff with assistance from Job Watch, keeping in mind the type of information that RMIT students may need to know.

Happy reading!
