We deliver cultural outcomes through our public events, activities and student opportunities, connecting internal and external stakeholders to create avenues for community engagement. We support RMIT’s learning and teaching activities, disseminate research and offer residencies, grants and prizes to nurture the creative sector and emerging practitioners.
Our galleries – including RMIT Gallery, First Site Gallery and Design Hub Gallery – present exhibitions and public programs that feature both established and emerging artists, along with the work of students and researchers. These spaces foster engagement with contemporary art and design, connecting audiences with future-thinking research, ideas and practices.
Our collections – including the RMIT Design Archives, RMIT Australian Screen Research Collection and RMIT Art Collection – support learning and teaching while offering public access to cultural assets. These resources enhance research and education, connecting cultural history to the wider community.
By collaborating with leading cultural organisations we connect the creative industries with students and academic programs, focusing on public-facing outcomes that platform research and learning.
We acknowledge the continuing culture of the Woi wurrung and Boon wurrung language groups of the eastern Kulin Nation and their contribution to the life and art of this city, including those whose works are represented in RMIT’s exhibitions, collections and cultural resources.
