After receiving the George Alexander Foundation Scholarship in 2013, Oliver Edwards was able to pursue volunteer opportunities and reduce the number of paid work hours, resulting in a better work, study and life balance. He volunteers as a part of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program, and runs a non-profit website about sustainable seafood.
“The scholarship has allowed me the time and energy to devote to study and other pursuits, which has ensured that I continue to achieve excellent grades while maintaining mental wellbeing and a good standard of living” he says.
“I have also spent in excess of five hours a week volunteering, and had the opportunity to attending two training sessions on leadership.
It’s been a great experience- thank you for the opportunities this scholarship has provided”.
