Ms Bornstein recently retired as a Barrister, having practiced as a member of the Victorian Bar for almost 20 years.

Ms Bornstein has an extensive background in industrial relations and practiced primarily in industrial, employment and administrative law She received a Public Interest Clearing House Award for work performed in the Solomon Islands. On leave from the Bar, she was the Principal Legal Officer for the Kimberley Land Council. She has been a member of the Fair Work Building and Construction Advisory Board and a member of the Social Security Appeals Tribunal..
Ms Bornstein is currently a Board Member and Deputy Chair of Greyhound Racing Victoria and a member of the Audit and Risk and Remuneration Committees of GRV. She is the Chair of the Industry Consultative Group of GRV.
Prior to commencing a law degree, Ms Bornstein was a Commissioner of the Industrial Relations Commission of Victoria and held executive positions in the trade union movement including as a member of the Australian Council of Trade Unions Executive.
Ms Bornstein's areas of interest include governance, educational pathways and ongoing skills development.
