Mr Bruce Akhurst

Mr Akhurst is currently Chairman of Tabcorp Holdings Limited, Chairman of Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation and a Non Executive Director of McMillan Shakespeare Group.

He was previously Chief Executive Officer of Sensis Pty Ltd, a position held for 7 years since 2005, Chairman and Director of Foxtel for 12 years and a director of Soufun, the leading Chinese real estate portal operating in over 100 cities throughout China with its headquarters in Beijing.

A lawyer by training, Bruce left Mallesons Stephen Jaques, now King and Wood Mallesons, after 17 years having been Managing Partner.

Mr Akhurst joined Telstra as its General Counsel in 1996. During his 16 years with Telstra, Bruce has held numerous senior positions including responsibility for Telstra's legal and regulatory strategy and affairs, its wholesale business, Telstra's internet services provider BigPond, and served on a number of Telstra boards. Bruce has particular interests in administration, business, digital technology and advertising, finance and the law.
