Senior Vice-President Strategy and Operations

Dionne Higgins is RMIT’s Senior Vice-President Strategy and Operations.

BBus (La Trobe), Chartered Accountant, GAICD

She has more than 20 years’ experience leading cross-functional teams and business transformation across the Media, Publishing and Education industry sectors locally and internationally.

Formally trained as a Chartered Accountant, Dionne has held senior executive Operations and Finance roles with particular focus on growth, sustainable productivity and the creation of high performing teams.

In 2016 Dionne joined RMIT as Chief Operating Officer to lead Operations and the delivery of Corporate Services with the purpose of continuously improving student and staff experiences.

She went on to steer RMIT’s critical incident management process and response to COVID-19 before she was appointed to the role of Interim Vice-Chancellor, from 1 July 2021 until January 2022.

As Senior Vice-President Strategy and Operations, Dionne is focused on areas of opportunity for RMIT, working across the Operations, Finance & Governance, Policy, Strategy & Impact and Global portfolios, and in close collaboration with RMIT’s Vice-Chancellor and President.

She is passionate about people and making a difference within the world, and leading with transparency to promote equality and empowerment.
