The Executive Education team provides expertise and experience in leadership, management, team building, strategy, innovation, marketing, finance, accounting and information technology.
Consultants engaged in projects include academics with extensive real-world project knowledge, and consultants drawn from business, government and the not-for-profit sector. Each program is unique: the emphasis is on designing and delivering programs and short courses that align with the learning and knowledge needs of the client group through a consultative approach, developing a custom-designed intervention focussed on delivering competitive or organisational advantage. Relevance and practicality are a central focus, drawing on the latest thinking but identifying the most effective ways to translate leading edge ideas into realistic applications.
There is no set form that characterises RMIT Executive Education programs. The approach may utilise lectures, presentations by experts in the field, group and individual activities and site visits. Where appropriate, simulations and case studies are used - or even designed for the client - which enhance the application of ideas and the development of key skills. Many programs begin with pre-course interviews, mentoring, and other preparatory activities; several include follow-up activities designed to reinforce learning and to sustain the focus on new ideas an approaches.
Executive Education takes development out of the classroom, and brings ideas and possibilities to the organisation. Courses can be run on-site, at venues away for the business, or at RMIT: wherever they are held, the focus is on relevance and effective learning and development. The view that ’our people are our most important asset’ takes on a new force in the current environment: today ’the right people are a truly critical asset’, and executive education is key to investing in your human capital.

RMIT University is a certified overseas training organisation. Over the years Executive Education in the College of Business has delivered a wide range of programs to international partners, including clients from China, Vietnam, India and France.
For example, we have run the Tianjin Government Leaders Training Program for well over a decade providing a customised curriculum blended with lectures, workshops, industry briefings, site visits and mentoring. It continues to be a flagship project for the sister city relationship between Melbourne and Tianjin.
The College has also built on its long-standing relationship with Vietnam and a growing number of visitors are coming from Vietnam to Melbourne for executive education. Groups of television executives have recently visited Melbourne from HCMTV, a major Vietnamese television network, for strategy and management training, and more are expected to follow.
