Our expertise
Healthcare Technology
The focus of this area is the transformation of healthcare delivery through the application of technology. Our researchers design and develop sustainable e-health solutions to support wellness, manage chronic diseases self-care and model the spread of pandemics. Designing solutions for effective emergency and disaster preparedness and readiness are core initiatives.
Green IT
Our Green IT group has world class capabilities in sustainable IT/IS. They design information systems to reduce energy and waste through IT solutions to enable the measurement, monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions. The work has a strong industry focus, much of it in association with the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA), Fujitsu Australia and Connection Research.
Applied logistics
Our experts in applied logistics improve efficiency in logistics flows along supply chains, by building technological platforms to improve information sharing across supply networks. Researchers in this area are involved in industry funded projects to develop applications that support consumer-focused logistics requirements using geographic information and mobile technology platforms.
Information and Knowledge Management
The management of information and knowledge is one of the biggest challenges and drivers of change facing organizations today. Our researchers are exploring the implications of organising and retrieving information in current and emergent forms, particularly in the impact of multimedia formats and new modes of access such as mobile technology.
Social Media Technologies
Staff in this area are researching the development and use of social media technologies such as Facebook and Twitter to turn communication into interactive dialogue.

Program Advisory Committee
The Program Advisory Committee (PAC) members are drawn from academia, industry and government organisations and together they provide direct input into the shape and content of our academic programs. The Committee is a platform for sharing about industry best practice and acts as a sounding board for the identification of external perspectives on the skills and attributes required to ensure our students are work-ready upon graduation.
