Associate Professor Hélène Cherrier's research focuses on bringing about a more sustainable and just society.
After completing her PhD at the University of Arkansas on dispossession and identity work in the context of downshifting, Hélène has held academic positions across the world, in Rome, Dubai and in Queensland, NSW and Victoria.
Her current research interests consider waste value, social and environmental activism, and object-subject relations. Helene’s work has been widely published, including the Journal of Business Research, the European Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, and the Journal of Marketing Management.’ Hélène also co-edited a book on the theories and practices of simple living.
When not researching a more sustainable society, Hélène aspires to live a minimalist, low waste impact lifestyle – even as a mother of three boys and a girl.
