Our chemical engineering research aims to deliver high-impact solutions to problems in the chemical process industries.
We work in a range of fields, with particular emphasis on the water industry, materials processing industry and climate change adaptation. Our staff collaborate extensively with industry partners on a consultancy or research basis.
Our research is supported by well-equipped laboratories with rheometers; equipment for mixing, electrical resistance tomography, analytical and mechanical property testing, and membrane filtration; and a wet chemistry laboratory.
Key areas include rheology of slurries, biosolid management, process intensification, polymer nanocomposites water quality and treatment, climate change adaptation and engineering education.
