Established in 1998, the Forum is one of key parts of RMIT's University-wide network of globalisation and cultural diversity sponsored by the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies.
RMIT University recognized the need for the Forum in response to:
- the risky opportunities created by globalization and cultural diversity;
- the desires of Chinese Australians to make productive contributions to Australia;
- the imperative to build much better relations between Australia and Asia, and
- the research and education on Chinese Australians' engagement with local and global education, training and broad affairs.
