An examination of the energy and environmental performance of residential buildings with heritage values. Fourteen heritage residential buildings located in Australia and New Zealand were assessed. The aim of the project was to provide empirical research evidence by comparing the life cycle embodied and operational energy performance, greenhouse gas emissions, water and other environmental impacts of a range of heritage building designs with improved retrofitted designs where heritage values are preserved.
