Tobias Brodel is a sound artist, musician and programmer exploring multimodal perception and cognition.
Whilst his background is in improvised musical performance (from Jazz, Gamelan and Noise traditions) Tobias' practice also extends to software development, focussing on computerised audiovisual works. In the AkE labs, he uses audio-generative light manipulation to investigate ideas of inter-sensory perception, synchresis and machine autonomy. He is interested in exploring colour/sound relationships and the ability for software to generate complex, organic structures.
Tobias exhibits interactive multi-sensory works as well as video installations. He recently colloborated with Darrin Verhagen and Stuart McFarlane for Experimenta: Recharge 2014.
