This report is the culmination of the first phase of the Gippsland's (120 km or 75 miles east of Melbourne) Smart Specialisation Strategy (GS3). It documents the development of the Gippsland innovation system and emerging partnerships and projects in food and fibre, energy, health and wellbeing and the visitor economy sectors.

This Strategy, which is Australia’s first, identifies the competitive advantages in the Hunter Region / Hunter Valley (120 km or 75 miles north of Sydney) to deliver a strong and focused economic development agenda supported by innovation and entrepreneurship.
