The world is changing at a rapid rate, driven by globalisation, technology and environmental insecurity, impacting on lives in local and international contexts and social, institutional and political arenas.
While embracing the positive growth these changes bring, we must also examine the challenges that they create to ensure that inequalities are reduced and peace, well-being & prosperity is fostered.
The Centre was formed in 2018 bringing together a wealth of research expertise in applied social research and international and global studies.
Our four multi-disciplinary research programs use evidence-based research, grounded in academic, political, policy and practice debates, to motivate positive social and global transformations.
Develop new knowledge and critical interventions to transform policy, practice, culture and lives
Deliver multi, inter, and trans-disciplinary solutions for the most pressing social and global challenges locally, nationally and internationally
Collaborate with academic, industry and community partners to respond to social and global challenges and inequalities, influencing social change
Work in partnership to enhance national and international engagement with the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 agenda, in five focal areas
Researchers in the Social & Global Studies Centre come from a diverse range of experiences and backgrounds, led by Centre Director, Professor Renata Kokanović.
Our Advisory Group is made up of international academic and industry members, offering direction for the Centre's research priorities, mentoring, and engagement.
