Associate Professor Ngan Collins
An experienced researcher and educator with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry for about 20 years. My research interests and expertise is in Asian management including HRM and Employment relations (China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Taiwan), impact of climate change on HR and skill development in Vietnam, work-life balance in healthcare industry in Malaysia, implications of virtual teamwork in Asian workforce, workforce transformation and changes of business leadership in East Asia. Most of my research is multi-disciplinary in nature and promotes mix-method approaches to combine macro and micro levels of investigations to contemporary business management issues. I have published in academic journals and books on Asian HRM topics including Routledge, Advanced Journal of Nursing, Personnel Review, The International Journal of Human Resource Management, Human Resource Management, Asia Pacific Journal of Human Resources and Asian Pacific Business Review and Journal of General Management. My excellent teaching experience covers both undergrad and postgrad levels including face -to -face and online learning environments. My teaching philosophy is built on a student-centred learning approach to develop student skills for professional practice in a global environment. I have a strong record of successful PhD supervisions. I was working as an international consultant for ILO in Thailand and Vietnam. I have been working with government agencies, public sector organisations and universities across Asia through my research and Executive Education training activities.
