Dr. Wendy Goff
Wendy's research is focused on adult relationships and their impact on children’s learning and development.
Wendy's research is focused on adult relationships and their impact on children’s learning and development, and although she has used several vehicles to study these relationships, the pragmatic nature of her research and her focus on generating real world change for children is what brings her research together as a cohesive body of work. Wendy's research has been primarily situated in partnerships with schools and she has published and presented her work both nationally and internationally. Co-design and Design-Based Research are her key methodological approaches and she has successfully used these approaches with different educational partners. Wendy uses four key vehicles to study adult relationships; mathematics education; vulnerable children; the transition to school; and educational partnerships.
Throughout her career, Wendy has held several leadership roles (Academic Director International Partnerships; Professional Experience Academic Lead; Graduate Teaching Performance Assessment (GTPA) Lead), she is currently the Academic Director of Professional Experience. Wendy has received various awards for her leadership, teaching and research. Last year her professional experience VR simulation research project won the iTnews Benchmark Award 2021 for Best Education Project in Australia. In 2020 she received the schools Emerging Researcher Award at Swinburne University, throughout her career she has also received the Deans Award for Teaching Excellence and a Vice Chancellors nomination for Teaching Excellence.
Wendy is keen to supervise students who are interested in adult relationships, mathematics education, vulnerable children, or the transition to school. She is interested in research that is situated in early childhood, primary schools, secondary schools or in higher education.
