Dr Robyn Moffitt
Dr Moffitt is a Lecturer in the Discipline of Psychology (School of Health and Biomedical Sciences). Dr Moffitt's teaching and research areas of expertise are health, exercise, and sport psychology.
Dr Moffitt completed her PhD at Flinders University investigating the effect of emotions on automaticity in elite athletes. She subsequently completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) involving the design and evaluation of psychological interventions for diet and exercise behaviour change in the general population, and among those with lifestyle-related disease. Prior to joining RMIT, Dr Moffitt held academic positions at Flinders University, ACU Brisbane, and Griffith University.
Dr Moffitt's current research interests include the design and evaluation of cognitive interventions, including acceptance and compassion-based approaches, for psychological health and well-being, diet and exercise behaviour, exercise performance, and body dissatisfaction. Dr Moffitt teaches in the areas of health and exercise psychology, applied topics in psychology, and research design and statistics.
