Louise’s work has been cited in national and international books, catalogues and journals.
Louise borrows from the world around us, rethinking and reconfiguring natural and formal elements to make new and magical spaces. Hanging from the ceiling or the wall, lying on the floor and illuminated with atmospheric light and shadows these sculptures are inscribed with the sensation of unfolding time – both in terms of experiencing the work and comprehending its making.
Material density, pattern and proportion are explored in her work, unlikely groupings of organic and inorganic materials are integrated together by hand with talismanic purpose. These sculptures take pleasure enmeshing one form and texture with another – they move across specific cultural reference points, grafting, adapting, innovating and paying homage. Louise’s work intersects with nature and design, suggesting a parallel ecosystem where a mysterious and poetic geometry is at play.
