IMPORTANT NOTE

1. Please do not submit multiple refund applications unless you are requested to submit new form due to an error. If you submit multiple forms, our automated refund system will be overridden and delay processing of your refund request.


2. Please note due to very high volumes of refund requests, we endeavour to process refund requests within 28 business days. However, some delays in responding to emails and processing of refunds may occur. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this busy time.

Student status 


I am an international student who is applying for or holding a student visa and : 

If you are an international student who;
- completed one or more semester/s of study, OR
- is continuing with enrolment in your first semester and want to apply for a refund of an overpayment, OR
- enrolled in any semester of a program and have been approved a leave of absence.
Please use complete and submit the Domestic and international refund form.  

If you have cancelled due to debt, you should have received a communication advising you to submit the refund due to cancellation of enrolment form.

China banks: To avoid lengthy delays, please enter the same Chinese bank account that made the original payment. China bank policies may require the refund to be returned to the payer's bank account. RMIT will transfer your approved refund amount in AUD to avoid an exchange rate loss due to multiple currency conversions.
 
India banks: Not all India banks accept AUD currency. You must check that your bank accepts AUD currency. If a transfer is rejected due to incorrect currency, charges may apply for a re-transfer of the  refund payment.

  1. I declare that the information on this form is true and correct and that it is my responsibility to provide all the necessary documentation to support my request for refund. 
  2. I undertake that I copied and attached the identification page of my passport/ID card to this document.
  3. I acknowledge that my passport verifies that I am the signatory to this document.
  4. I authorise the third party/agent to electronically submit this completed form to RMIT. 
  5. If I have requested that my refund is paid to a third party, I agree that by signing this request, I have authorised RMIT to pay my eligible refund as directed above. I understand that RMIT is not responsible if I do not receive the refund from the nominated third party bank account holder. 
  6. If I require any changes to be made, I will inform RMIT of these changes in writing. 
  7. I request that, in accordance with the RMIT's Refund Procedure, any outstanding fees and charges owing to RMIT be deducted from the credit amount before any refund is paid. 
  8. I understand I will receive a refund only if an amount remains in credit after all outstanding fees and charges have been paid in full. 
  9. I agree that my refund will be made in AUD unless an alternative currency is required for a successful transfer of funds. RMIT is not responsible for any currency variations in foreign exchange rates. 
  10. I understand that my refund will be processed to the original method of payment (unless the original method of payment was wire transfer or BPAY) and override any selection made on the form.
  11. I acknowledge that this refund application will be processed in accordance with RMIT Policy, applicable Approved Schedule of Fees and Charges, which I have read and understood. 
  12. I understand that charges may apply in accordance with the relevant Refund Policy and that these charges will be deducted from my refund before it is paid. 
  13. The purposes for which the information is collected on this form is solely for the refund assessment. 
  14. If you do not provide inadequate information or supporting documentation, the assessment of your refund will be delayed.
  15. If you do not provide requested information within 10 business days, the refund case will be closed. You will be required to submit a new application for refund for assessment.
