Future/Inclusive is a festival of ideas, participation and collaborative action convened by RMIT’s Social Innovation Hub, supported by City of Melbourne and Victorian Government.
Over one week in July, Future/Inclusive will bring diverse thinkers, groups and communities together to explore how we shape about a more inclusive, sustainable future in Melbourne, the region, and the world.
Over two years into a global pandemic and facing the realities of climate change and a world in conflict, our communities, cities, and planet face unprecedented challenges. New thinking and innovative action are required. We’re tired and we’ve been through a lot. The pandemic has brought many people together, but it’s also exposed how divided and unequal our society is.
The festival begins with three full days of workshops and discussions at Storey Hall on the 14th, 15th and 18th of July. Join us for a full day, a half day or every single day and share in the creation of a bold new vision for the city. Further workshops and event will continue through the week at RMIT's Social Innovation Hub.
Future/Inclusive is an opportunity to pause and reflect: How are we feeling? What are we learning? Where are our greatest struggles? What ideas and their applications give us hope for the future?
The festival will present a dynamic program of provocations and discussions, along with creative and interactive workshops. Themes include social impact, innovation and systems change, inclusive economics, health and wellbeing, social justice, place-shaping, sustainability, community-driven action and design and technology. Future/Inclusive will occur across venues at RMIT’s city campus and the CBD.

Future/Inclusive is an in-person event but lives streams will be available for most sessions. We hope to see you at Storey Hall but if you can't make it please sign up for the session you are interested in and the link to the live stream will be sent to you before the festival.
