The project examined local and international case studies for setting and achieving targets for zero emissions residential buildings.

The AusZEH (Australian Zero Emission House) Upgrade Project is a zero emissions upgrade of an existing 3-bedroom public housing property and 2 control houses for benchmarking. The project analysed policy and regulatory initiatives, voluntary standards and incentives, and the applicability of the international practices in achieving zero emissions targets for existing Australian homes.

This project was commissioned by the Department of Human Services (DHS) Research and Evaluation Unit, CSIRO, Housing & Community Building Property Portfolio and Sustainability Victoria.
