Creative director, graphic designer and illustrator with 12+ years of in-house, agency and freelance experience.

Claudia Bergsdorf has been teaching at RMIT for more than 4 years now, while continuing to work as a creative in the industry.

Specialtizations are packaging, branding/brand strategy and illustration.

Claudia works for global agency am__brands, helping private clients and local agencies on a freelance basis. This work requires catering to many needs, including art direction, photoshoots or creating sleek layouts for reports.

Has completed Masters of Design and Illustration in New Zealand in 2011 with a focus on crossover literature and how it can translate into visual mediums.

Arguments focusing on recurrent universal themes such as death, time and identity are integral to the continuum of crossover children’s fiction*.

Through a close reading of their favourite crossover book Ronia the Robber’s Daughter (1982), paired by correlating key moments from their personal history with identified themes, they show how this genre is able to communicate the universal and the personal. Their thesis examines how illustration can enhance the universal and the personal and thereby make the concept of the continuum explicit.
