Presenter

Associate Professor Michael Olasoji is a Mental Health Nurse with several years of experience working in both acute and community mental health settings including clinical nurse education. Prior to commencing his career as a nurse, Michael worked for a number of years as a Biochemist. Michael is passionate about mental health nursing. At the start of his career as a mental health nurse he was awarded the Kathleen AB Smith award for being the most outstanding graduate nurse during his graduate year. Michael has taught mental health nursing for a number of years and was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Teaching Excellence Award for his teaching and learning abilities.

Michael remains an active researcher with a keen interest in improving the health outcomes of people and in mixed method studies and co-designed interventions. He has a number of peer reviewed publications, is a reviewer for a number of journals and has been lead researcher for a number of funded research projects. He is also currently supervising HDR students. Michael is a member of the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.
