Statement processing and delivery times

Please allow adequate time for your statement/s to be processed and delivered. Hardcopy statements take 4-6 weeks to be printed and delivered from the time of your order. Digital statements take up 2-3 business days to be processed. Orders cannot be expedited.

Please note:

  • You must pay all debts to RMIT before you can order any academic statements.
  • HE testamurs are sent separately to your other academic documents. If you have ordered both, you will recieve two separate deliveries. 

Types of statements and how to order them

Some statements are only available to particular student cohorts (such as vocational education or higher education).

See below for information about who is eligible to get each statement and how to access or order digital and hardcopy versions.

What is a transcript?

A transcript is the official record of your studies at RMIT University. It documents all of your programs, courses, results and any exemptions granted or withdrawals from courses after the census date. Results can't be removed from your transcript.

Where applicable, transcripts include details of completion, conferral (graduation) and University-awarded prizes and recognition. 


Can I add or remove a grade from my official academic transcript?

No. Your academic transcript is the official record of your study at RMIT University. It is not possible to:

  • delete failed grades
  • add courses which were not studied
  • make any other modification/s.

 

Useful for 

  • Employment opportunities or applying for study at other institutions.
  • Providing evidence of the courses you enrolled in, the results you achieved and your GPA (if applicable).
     

Who can get a transcript?

Available to all current and past students, including students who did not complete their program.
 

When can I get a transcript?

You can order a transcript any time as a current or past student. If you are a current student, please be aware your transcript will only include results available at the time of order and do not update automatically when you complete more courses/programs. You will need to order a new transcript for new courses/programs to be displayed on your transcript.

How to get your transcript

Current students

  • View online: Current students can view their results free of charge via Enrolment Online.
  • Digital: Order your transcript for $25 at any point in your program. Your digital transcript will include all results available at the time of order. Digital transcripts do not update automatically when you complete more courses/programs. Allow 2-3 business days from the date of your order.
  • Hardcopy: Order a hardcopy transcript (Australia Post: $65 , International mail: $90). Your hardcopy transcript will include all results available at the time of order. Delivery time is 4-6 weeks from the date of your order. 

Completed students

You must wait 48 hours after you have been marked as 'complete' in your program before you can access or order a finalised transcript.

  • View and share online (My eQuals): A digital copy of your transcript will be available free via My eQuals after you have been marked as ‘complete’ in your program. Your My eQuals transcript will be updated after you are officially conferred (graduate) to reflect that you have graduated from your program.
  • Digital: Order a full set of digital academic statements (including a transcript) for $25. Allow 2-3 business days from the date of your order.
  • Hardcopy: Order a hardcopy transcript (Australia Post: $65 , International mail: $90). Delivery time is 4-6 weeks from the date of your order.

What is a testamur?

A testamur (or graduation certificate) is a legal document that satisfies Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) requirements. Your testamur includes your name, the qualification you completed, the date of conferral and the University seal. Testamurs are available to all students when they graduate at a ceremony or in absentia.

  • Name on your testamur – The name on your Testamur must appear exactly as it is on your RMIT student record. You can change the order of your names when you apply to graduate.
  • Date on your testamur – The date on your Testamur is your graduation date, when your award was officially conferred either in absentia or at a graduation ceremony. Note, the conferral date is not the same as the date you completed your program.
  • Award level on your testamur – When you graduate from a higher education program, your award will be conferred with an ‘award level’; for example, Pass, Pass with Distinction or Honours First Class. See information on award levels below.
     

Useful for 

Proof of graduation for employers and other opportunities. A hard copy testamur is suitable for framing, to showcase your achievements. 
 

Who can get a testamur?

A testamur is available to all RMIT students who have been conferred (graduated).

The type of testamur you receive depends on your qualification.  

  • Higher education and Foundation Studies graduates receive a single A3-sized testamur  
  • Vocational education graduates receive an A4-sized testamur which is added to their VE Qualification Statement. See the VE Qualification Statement section below for more information and a sample.  

 

How to get your testamur

You must wait until after you have graduated from your program (at a ceremony or in absentia) before you can access or order a testamur.

For vocational education students, your testamur is included in your VE Qualification Statement (see section below).

  • View and share online (My eQuals): A digital copy of your testamur will be available free via My eQuals within one week after you graduate. Note: this process was applicable from 1 July 2017.
  • Hardcopy
    • If you are graduating at a ceremony, you will receive a hardcopy of your testamur at the ceremony. The cost of your testamur is included in the ceremony fee.
    • If you are graduating in absentia, you can order a hardcopy of your testamur for $55* including tracked postage. Delivery time is 4-6 weeks from the date of your order. Postage within Australia will be dispatched by Australia Post Express Post; international postage will be dispatched by DHL e-Commerce. A tracking number will be emailed to your personal email address directly by Australia Post or DHL as soon as the delivery is dispatched – please check your junk/spam folder for notification emails.

*This will be subtracted from the ceremony fee for 2023 in absentia graduates.
 

Replace your testamur

You can order a replacement hardcopy of your testamur for $170 including tracked postage.  Please note, alumni are entitled to only one hard copy of their testamur. Delivery time is 4-6 weeks from the date of your order.

Alumni from 2005 onwards can order a digital testamur as part of their full set of digital statements, for $25. Allow 2-3 business days from the date of your order.

What is a VE Qualification Statement?

The Vocational Education (VE) Qualification Statement lists competencies or modules achieved under the nationally endorsed curriculum. Your VE Qualification Statement is a graduation document that satisfies ASQA requirements.

Note, your statement may not include competencies or modules completed before 2002. 
 

Useful for

  • National program and course recognition (e.g. when applying for credit at another institution).
  • Professional registration (e.g. entry to a Vocational Board). 
  • Employment purposes (e.g. apprentices seeking to qualify for a higher level of income).
     

Who can get a VE Qualification Statement?

A VE Qualification Statement is only available to students who have completed a vocational education program (certificate I-IV and diploma programs).

If you are currently studying in your vocational education program, you will not be able to request a VE Qualification Statement until you have completed your program.

Higher education (bachelor and post-graduate programs) and Foundation Studies students receive a testamur in place of a VE Qualification Statement.
 

When can I get a VE Qualification Statement?

48 hours after you have been marked as 'complete' in your program, you can access or order a VE Qualification Statement containing your Vocational Education Qualification and list of competencies/modules.

Once you have graduated at a ceremony or in absentia, your vocational education testamur will be added to your VE Qualification Statement.
 

How to get a VE Qualification Statement

  • View and share online (My eQuals): A digital copy of your VE Qualification Statement will be available free via My eQuals 48 hours after you have been marked as ‘complete’ in your program. Your vocational education testamur will be added to your VE Qualification Statement within one week after you graduate at a ceremony or in absentia.
  • Hardcopy
    • If you are graduating at a ceremony, you will receive a hardcopy of your VE Qualification Statement, including your testamur, at the ceremony. The cost of your statement is included in the ceremony fee. 
    • If you are graduating in absentia, you can order a hardcopy of your VE Qualification Statement including your vocational education testamur for $55* including tracked postage. Delivery time is 4-6 weeks from the date of your order.

*This will be subtracted from the ceremony fee for 2022 in absentia graduates.
 

Replace your VE Qualification Statement

If you want a replacement statement, you can order a full set of digital academic statements for $25. Alternatively, you can order a replacement hardcopy of your statement for $55 (Australia Post) or $90 (international mail).

What is a Statement of Attainment?

If you complete a skill set or accredited short course, you’ll receive a digital Statement of Attainment. 

The Statement of Attainment lists competencies or modules achieved under the nationally endorsed curriculum. Your Statement of Attainment is a graduation document that satisfies ASQA requirements.

Please note your statement may not include competencies or modules completed before 2002. 
 

Useful for

  • National program and course recognition (e.g. when applying for credit at another institution).
  • Professional registration (e.g. entry to a Vocational Board). 
  • Employment purposes (e.g. apprentices seeking to qualify for a higher level of income).
     

Who can get a Statement of Attainment?

A Statement of Attainment is only available to students who have completed or discontinued a vocational education program (certificate I-IV and diploma programs). A Statement or Attainment is not available to higher education (bachelor and post-graduate programs) or Foundation Studies students.

If you are currently studying in your vocational education program, you will not be able to request a Statement of Attainment until you have been marked as 'complete' in your program or have discontinued your program.

 

How to get a Statement of Attainment

Completed students

You must wait until 48 hours after you have been marked as 'complete' in your program to access or order a Statement of Attainment.

  • View and share online (My eQuals): A digital copy of your Statement of Attainment will be available free via My eQuals 48 hours after you have been marked as 'complete' in your program. 
  • Hardcopy: Order a hardcopy of your Statement of Attainment for $55 including tracked postage. Delivery time is 4-6 weeks from the date of your order.

Discontinued students 

  • View and share online (My eQuals): A digital copy of your Statement of Attainment will be available free via My eQuals 48 hours after you discontinue your studies in your program. The statement will include results that you attained at the time you discontinued your studies.
  • Hardcopy: Order a hardcopy of your Statement of Attainment for $55 including tracked postage. Delivery time is 4-6 weeks from the date of your order.

What is an AHEGS?

Your Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS) provides details of your studies in a higher education program. It can be used to have your qualification recognised internationally.

AHEGS is an Australian Government initiative designed to promote the national and international professional recognition of Australian qualifications, and the international mobility of Australian graduates.
 

Useful for

  • Demonstrating your qualification level internationally.
  • Applying for study at other institutions, to provide evidence of the courses you have enrolled in and the results you achieved.
     

Who can get an AHEGS?

An AHEGS is only available to students who have graduated from a higher education program (bachelor and post-graduate programs) from 1 December 2011 onwards.

An AHEGS is not available to vocational education students (certificate I-IV and diploma programs) or Foundation Studies students.
 

How to get your AHEGS

You must wait until after you have graduated from your program (at a ceremony or in absentia) before you can access or order an AHEGS.

Sample Higher Education Graduation Statement

What is a SAC?

A Statement of Academic Completion (SAC) is a document that confirms you have completed all the requirements of your program. A SAC is an optional completion document and is different to a testamur (graduation certificate). 
 

Useful for

A SAC can be used to prove your study dates for visa requirements. For most other purposes we recommend using your academic transcript (see above), which also includes completion and conferral dates, where applicable.
 

Who can get a SAC?

A SAC is only available to students who have completed their program from 2005 onwards.

 

When will I receive my SAC?

From October 2022, if you are marked as ‘complete’ in your program, a digital copy of your SAC will be available free via My eQuals within 48 hours after the school has confirmed your completion.

 

What if I’ve already completed? How do I order a SAC?

Completed students and alumni from 2005 onwards are able to order a set of available digital academic statements (including the SAC) for $25 via Student Forms. Allow 2-3 business days from the date of your order.

If you want to order a hardcopy SAC, you can do so via Student Forms (Australia Post: $65, International mail: $90). Delivery time is 4-6 weeks from the date of your order.
