Malaysia Australia Colombo Plan Commemoration (MACC) Scholarships

This scholarship will provide financial support to Malaysian students who commence an undergraduate or a postgraduate program in 2024.

Value and duration

The total value of the scholarship is AU$10,000, one-off payment towards future tuition fee to be paid after the first census date.

Number of scholarships available

Two (2) scholarships are available.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be a Malaysian citizen
  • be an international student holding a valid student visa or plan to apply for a student visa prior to the program commencement
  • commence your RMIT undergraduate or postgraduate program in 2024
  • meet the academic and English proficiency requirements for entry into the nominated programs you have applied for
  • achieve an overall 70% or equivalent in your last completed qualification
  • not be in receipt of another Australian or foreign sponsoring organisation scholarship
  • have received an offer from RMIT for your program by the scholarship closing date.
     

How to apply

  1. Obtain an offer letter by applying an undergraduate or a postgraduate program
  2. Submit a 1-page English essay on reasons for applying for the MACC Scholarships; candidate must also demonstrate leadership qualities in their school years and abilities in problem solving through innovative and creative thinking. Essay must also elaborate the benefits to be gained from the course of study including education and career plans.
  3. Visit the MACC website to find out how to apply and submit your scholarship application including a 1-page English essay.
  4. You must submit your application and all relevant supporting documents by the scholarship closing date listed below

Applications are open.

Closing date

  • Semester 1, 2024: 15 December 2023
  • Semester 2, 2024: 30 April 2024
     

Terms and conditions

  • The scholarship is only applicable for tuition fees and is not refundable.
  • This scholarship cannot be deferred to another year and must be taken up in 2024.
  • Scholarship awardees will be involved in promotional activities for RMIT.
