Activating a Sustainable Future (RMIT Sustainability Showcase)

This panel session is not to be missed. Hear from budding entrepreneurs about their RMIT Activator journey and sustainable SMEs.

Meet the Panel:

James Puls-Welsh & Tommaso Fantin, Co-Founders of Is It Worth It?

Is changing our lifestyles to save the planet really worth it?

This dynamic duo are the creators of the “Is it worth it” podcast and website where they share and discuss different ways to reduce our environmental impact and ask the inevitable question, is it worth it?

Adam Kostarelas, Founder of Trunked

Trunked was created to provide a positive impact on the local community, environment and to provide a better choice for consumers. Their aim is to break down the barriers between second-hand goods and the consumer, saving customers potential hours otherwise spent looking for products.

Zac McClelland, Founder of VicHyper

Zac co-founded VicHyper, a team of engineers who participated in Elon Musk’s SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition in 2015. There, they worked alongside SpaceX engineers to build and deliver prototypes for Hyperloop transport.

Placing in the final 30 (the only team from the Southern Hemisphere to do so) out of 1700 entrants, VicHyper became well-known for their Hyperloop expertise in Australia.

Today, they have a 15-member team of aerospace, electrical, electronic, mechatronic, software and chemical engineers. Spread across Australia and San Francisco, the vision of VicHyper is to create technology for the future that makes life better. Recently, their team has moved onto a new frontier - creating an automated sorting system for recyclable waste.

This session will be followed with a Report on the State of the Environment as well as a opportunity to network over nibbles and drinks.
