Charlotte Hodes studied at Brighton College of Art (1977–78) and the Slade School, University College London where she completed undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Fine Art in 1984.

She is a painter whose practice includes work with collage, ceramics & glass. Recent solo exhibitions include ‘Silhouettes and Filigree’ Marlborough Gallery 2009, ‘Drawing Skirts’ Baring Wing & University Gallery, University of Northumbria 2008 and ‘Fragmented Images’ Wallace Collection London 2007 (supported by Arts Council England & Arts and Humanities Research Council) where she was Associate Artist.
Her work was included in the survey exhibition ‘Glasstress’ Venice Biennial 2009, European Design Biennial Design Museum London 2003 & Digital Responses, Victoria & Albert Museum 2002.
Winner of the prestigious Jerwood Drawing Prize in 2006, Hodes’ work is represented in many public collections including the Women’s Art Collection New Hall University of Cambridge, Brighton City Museum & Art Gallery, British Council and V&A.
