Film Screening - My Architect: A Son’s Journey
Event details Event cancelled
Part of the exhibition Peter Corrigan: Cities of Hope, RMIT Gallery is showing a special screening of the film 'My Architect: A Son’s Journey' (2003).
'My Architect: A Son’s Journey' (2003) is directed by filmmaker Nathaniel Kahn, architect Louis Kahn’s illegitimate son.
Nathaniel was 11 years old when his famous father died, and he made the movie to get to know him better, aside from the myths and legends.
Kahn, whose capital complex at Dhakka is hailed as one of the great architectural projects of the twentieth century, was a complex person, who didn’t want his mistresses and secret children at his funeral. Music by Neil Young adds poignancy to Nathaniel's story of man he barely knew.
This is an opportunity to see the film within the context of a major exhibition of architect Peter Corrigan’s (RMIT Building 8) work and creative influences.
This event is presented by RMIT Gallery as part of the exhibition: Peter Corrigan: Cities of Hope.
