RMIT Bachelor of Arts (Music Industry) and Melbourne Music Week’s Self-Made presented by Levi’s® bring you Breakout, a sustainable-minded event celebrating locality!
Organised through a first-time collaboration between RMIT Bachelor of Arts (Music Industry) students and Melbourne Music Week’s Self-Made presented by Levi’s®,
Breakout is a fresh and sustainable Melbourne music event.
Situated within the depths of the Old Melbourne Gaol, upcoming local acts Animaux, Leisure Suite, Crepes, CC:Disco!, Sedgwick, Young Spice and Alice Ivy will be raising the roof and awareness of sustainability and environmental consciousness in the music industry.
The afternoon will be powered by the sun through the Germinate sound system, and feature solar brewed and locally produced beer, cider, and kombucha tea provided by The Good Brew Co., demonstrating that sustainability isn’t just something we do in the home or office – it’s a part of everything we do in life – including enjoying music and culture!
Breakout is the perfect, guilt-free start to your Friday night, and pre-party to Melbourne Music Week’s opening night at the 2015 flagship venue, the Former Royal Women’s Hospital on Swanston Street, a short walk away.
Located near the corner of Franklin and Victoria Street. Catch a City Loop train to Melbourne Central train station or to Flinders Street. From Flinders Street, you can take a connecting City Loop train or Yarra Tram along nearby Swanston Street.
Trams running along Swanston Street include routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 16, 64, 67 and 72. La Trobe Street trams include routes 24, 30 and 35.
