Radiant Pavilion celebrates local and international contemporary jewellery and objects with over 200+ artists from 17 countries in more than 55 events at venues across Melbourne.
Melbourne is a centre of contemporary jewellery alongside Amsterdam and Munich. With a rich tradition and diverse offering, it is home to a thriving community of artists, galleries and studios.
Co-directors, Claire McArdle and Chloë Powell, are both RMIT Alumni. They have curated a program bursting with events, including street works, exhibitions, performances and installations, artist talks, workshops and open studios.
Many artists are students, alumni and staff of RMIT, with multiple events are hosted in RMIT gallery and lecture spaces.
‘There is nothing like Radiant Pavilion in the Southern hemisphere. We have been overwhelmed with proposals and from what started out as a small idea, has now grown into a week-long celebration of jewellery and object’ say Chloë Powell and Claire McArdle. ‘We wanted to create an opportunity for the contemporary jewellery and object community to come together’, they continue, ‘to share their work with their peers, to make new connections and bring their work to a new audience.’
