About David Tinworth
David has had a long term interest in the intersection of science and business, originally in the human pathology and diagnostics arenas and later in the veterinary biologics field.
Graduating NSWIT (now called UTS) in 1978 with a Bachelor of Applied Science and completing a Master of Business Administration at Macquarie University in 1983 he has been successfully involved in commercialising biological based research since the late 70’s working as one of the first employees of Douglas Laboratories, multinational diagnostic company Mallinckrodt and finally established his own company, Bioproperties P/L, in 1989.
In 2008 RMIT saw fit to confer David with an honoris causa Doctor of Applied Science relating to his extensive collaborative R&D and innovation contributions. He has had a significant role in the establishment and as a Director of several CRC’s and remains fully involved in the strategic directions and day to day operations of the Bioproperties group as the Managing Director.
He has an extensive personal network both locally and internationally in the veterinary biologics field.
