Memoirists turn the lens on themselves, focusing and interrogating their experiences, illuminating aspects of their lives for others.
In doing so, they make choices: what to select, what to disregard; how to tell the story; how much of themselves to reveal.
Broadcaster, singer and writer Sian Prior, herself a memorist, will explore these questions and more with Kate Holden (In My Skin), Kate Richards (Madness: A Memoir) and Sarah Vincent (Death by Dim Sim). Their memoirs deal with serious matters – drug addiction, mental illness and obesity – but in ways that give hope and uplift.
All are graduates of RMIT Professional Writing and Editing program.
