Professor Julian Goddard is the Head of School of Art at RMIT University. Professor Goddard has been an academic, curator and artist for 30 years specializing in the aesthetics of the everyday.
As well as a teacher and lecturer Professor Goddard is the founder and chairperson of the Australian Centre for Concrete Art – an international group that since 2001 has been making large, public minimalist wall paintings and gallery installations in Australia and Europe. He is also chairperson of The Bureau of Ideas - an international think tank that promotes public discussion of art, design, architecture and philosophy through forums in non-academic environments.
Professor Goddard has curated numerous exhibitions and published widely on Australian, Aboriginal and Concrete art, including three books, book chapters, articles, papers and catalogue essays.
