This workshop focuses on the importance of adult learning and how it is so often taken for granted, yet so important for people to participate in the workforce and in civil and political life.
As its starting point, the workshop will use the Goal and associated targets identified in the Sustainable Development Goals for 2015–2030, which will be endorsed by the United Nations in September.
What do these mean for Australia?
Is it time for Australia to adopt a more comprehensive policy framework for promoting and supporting adult learning?
What part might different institutions play in supporting the implementation of such a policy?
What contribution can Australia make to promoting and supporting adult learning in the developing world?
This event is part of Melbourne Knowledge Week 19–25 October 2015, proudly presented by the City of Melbourne.
Speakers will be confirmed closer to the event date.
The workshop will be conducted with a range of partners, including Adult Learning Australia.
